Summer in Southern California is one of our favorite seasons for culinary exploration.
The rise of summer brings a wide variety of seasonal produce and food to market, making many interesting ingredients accessible for refreshing, healthy, and creative recipes. These bountiful foods can be found at your farmer’s markets and in local specialty produce stores, which ensures freshness, ripeness, and better flavor.
There are plenty of opportunities to find what you’re craving while buying local and in-season in Southern California.
Apricots and cherries are some delicious summery fruits that can sometimes be found year-round in mega-stores, but are only in season and at their height of flavor from May through July. Corn, cucumbers, and figs are few others to take advantage of on your menus during this season!
Our seasonal menus are inspired by the freshest local cuisine, and we have many meal ideas that you can find in our sit down and buffet menus for your special event. Chef Steven is always happy to customize a menu for you as well.
Summer vegetables like heirloom tomatoes and fresh herbs perform harmoniously together in a salad. Mixed with in-season greens, red onion, and cornbread croutons topped with a red wine vinaigrette is a refreshing starter that can be found in our sit-down dinner menu. Peaches, Green Beans, or Watermelon can be added for an extra summery twist!
Now that soft herbs like basil, cilantro and mint are in season, it’s the perfect time to incorporate them in recipes like our herb roasted organic chicken breast in a sherry-herb reduction, available in our dinner buffet menu.
