Crème de la Crème Makes a Difference

On Tuesday, September 17th, Crème de la Crème partnered with Copia to make a donation of 45 pounds of food to a local shelter. The extra food that we had on hand was turned into 38 meals for local homeless families who stay at the Thomas House in Garden Grove.

The mission of Thomas House is to provide a safe, supportive environment and the resources necessary for homeless families with children to remain together while empowering them to become independent and self-sufficient.

The Thomas House Family Shelter is an incredible nonprofit that exclusively serves homeless families with children. They are a goal oriented, life changing program that offers comprehensive services designed to help families attain permanent housing and self-sufficiency. Last year, over 95% of their residents graduated from the program, 89% moved into their own home, and 81% gained full-time employment!

This donation was made possible by partnering with Copia, an organization that seeks to end hunger by instantly matching businesses and events with surplus food to those in need. 

Copia developed the technology to effectively recover excess food that would otherwise go to waste, and deliver it to local organizations that serve those in need in local communities. They are headquartered in San Francisco, but operate out of all 50 states and parts of Canada.
